1. Brainstorm

The bar at The Jesse has centered itself around an inviting atmosphere, seasonal craft cocktails, beer, and wine. We knew The Jesse needed to share the feeling of visiting their mixologists to bring in new patrons to their bar. But how do you capture the feeling of having a drink made for you in this unique environment?

2. Create

STELO Creative decided that the best way to capture this experience after talking with the owner about her brand and vision for the property, was to take the viewer along for a journey with the bar manager as he crafts three unique drinks. Through fast pace clips, cuts, and slow motion that matches the beat of the cinematic music, the film feels as epic as their cocktails taste.

3. Delivery

The outcome of STELO’s one day shoot was one 30-second spot, three single drink videos for social, and a set of photos to be used for marketing purposes that match the same esthetics as the videos. In conjunction with this behind the scenes footage was capture to show how the film was made. With these the client receives triple stack images from the videos, and double stack videos that show the behind the scenes and the actual shot. The Jesse also receives a package of 10 second clips for social ads and posts.

Behind The Scenes

By using a Laowa probe lens at a f/16 combined with the FS700 at 240fps we were able to capture the entire experience, even inside of the glass. The added perspectives of top down and tight close ups gives the dramatic feel and personality that these drinks have.

The lighting and coloring in a film really makes all the difference in creating a specific feeling. The Jesse has big windows in their bar area that cast an amazing glow inside of the bar, and that’s the same look we wanted to recreate in this content campaign. We used a Joker 800 and 1600 to create enough “sunlight” to really allow the Laowa lens to create the desired effect inside of the glasses.
